We decided to have some friends over NYE to ring in the new year. Bri was excited all day to have her friends come over, and I was excited cause the fire work stands were going to open up! We spent a few hours playing with cousins who we had missed like crazy the past couple of weeks, took long naps, and killed time before our party. We took the kids to Rocky's around 6 to feed them dinner. Half way into Bronson's hamburger Jake noticed it had mayo on it… again no reaction! After dinner we went across the street to buy some fireworks! We bought a couple small ones and then a bigger one. I asked the guy if he did any demonstrations so we could know what the good ones were, and he had no problems lighting some off for us. The kids loved this (and so did I). It also made us want to buy the one they showed us so we did. We went home and had about an hour to get ready for everyone. I made some chip dip and Jake threw kids in the tub. Nybergs showed up and the party began! The kids played so well, and the adults (Taylors, Guymons, Sarah and Ty, Nybergs, and us) all played games and visited. Bronson went to sleep at 8:30 and didnt wake up again until morning. Around 11 people were getting tired so we did some fireworks, cleaned up, did more fireworks, and then people took off. Jake, Bri, and I stayed up (like an extra 15 minutes) to watch the ball drop. It was so fun. We counted down, made wishes for 2014, and went to bed! Wednesday morning Jake and I had to make some pies for the Birchell party. I made the berry pie while Jake went over to do chores and see Darren, Jennifer, and Megan. It took Bronson a minute to warm up to Darren and before Jake came home he said Bronson and Darren were playing tickle fight with dinosaurs. Jake and I started the lemon pie, Bronson went to sleep, and Bri went to see Megan. We decided to let Bronson sleep so Jake stayed with him while Bri and I went to the party. Bronson slept until it was time to open presents, so he had perfect timing. Granny was superwoman this year. Not only did she make all the grandkids pi's, but she also made each couple a minky quilt. I am so in love with mine! Everyones was so different and fit our personalities so well. I just don't know where she found the time! We partied with the Birchell's for four hours. Our kids were so exhausted and burnt out that we finally took them home. Bronson bawling and Brilee sound asleep in my arms. It was the perfect end to a busy Holiday season.
All the girls in their jammies from Granny!
The grandkids, minus Dathan. Bronson and Rowdy wanted NOTHING to do with pics.
Our blanket and diffuser have already been put to great use.
