Monty and Pies

Uncle Del and Aunty Ann have been supplying Brilee with an AWESOME Beatrix Potter collection (Peter Rabbit). When she was born they sent her the whole collection, and I put them up on her book shelf to look at. Yesterday they sent Monty (who never made it in Peter Rabbit, but he is still awesome). I took him out of the box and had all intentions of putting him up on her shelf as well. As soon as I took him out of the box Brilee had a different idea. She grabbed him, and has kept him close since. He is really soft and she always is rubbing him against her face. I am not rocking her to sleep anymore and so I laid her in her bed and of course she started crying. I thought she would cry for awhile, but she quit within minutes. When I went to see what was going on she had snuggled up to Monty, and had gone to sleep. It was so cute! Thanks Uncle Del and Aunty Ann!

Granny made a peach pie on Sunday and it got me motivated to try it myself. Tuesday night I stopped on my way home from work and bought fresh peaches and all the ingredients! As soon as I put Brilee to sleep I got to work. I followed the recipe (or at least thought I did) but I couldn't get my sauce to thicken. I decided to add the jello and try it anyway. Well it didn't work, and so Jake fed it to the chickens. This evening Brilee went to bed at 7:30 and Jake was team sorting so I thought I would try again. Of course my sauce wouldn't thicken. I called Granny and told her what was going on and she said "You are using corn starch right?" Well, unfortunately I had been using corn syrup. I don't know what I was thinking! I poured it out started over, and WHALA we have a fresh peach pie that tastes delicious! (Especially with the homemade whip cream I made to go with it!)

Another Month Older

Another month has come and gone. I can not believe how much a little baby can change in a month. This month was significant because of the ear tubes and the changes they brought to our life. It is so nice to not have a sick baby every ten days, and to not have to worry about remembering the medicine the other ten days. We are so in love, and love watching her experience life.
7 Things to ALWAYS remember:
You are trying your hardest to figure out how to crawl.
When you wake up you lay in your crib and say DADADADADA (this is especially nice when you wake up before six and I can tell Jake she obviously only wants him).
You love sweet potatoes and carrots.
You growl when you are really happy.
You suck in your top lip and smile.
You love "Ride the Pony". (You actually just love going upside down.)
You are a Daddy's little girl! When he walks in the house you cry until he holds you.
7 ways you have CHANGED:
Your appearance is night and day different!
You know who your Mommy and Daddy are.
You are figuring out how to communicate your needs.
You are mobile.
You love solid foods.
You are becoming aware of STRANGER DANGER!
You are becoming IMPOSSIBLE to get dressed!
7 ways you're still the SAME:
You are still so laid back and go with the flow! (Just like your Dad)
You still LOVE your bottle.
You are an awesome little sleeper.
You love to cuddle.
You love your cousins!
You always have to have a toy in your hand!
You are still (and will always be) the light of your parents eyes!

One of the seasonal fire fighters told Stacia "Your sister is really lucky" Stacia asked him why and he said, "Because if she ever decided she didn't want Brilee any of the fire guys would take her." I thought that was so funny! She definitely is a popular little girl!

Aunt Stacia

Aunt Stacia went back to Cedar City yesterday. We have loved having her home this summer, and we are really going to miss her. She is a great aunt to Brilee and a great friend to me! Good luck this semester (we know you will do great!).

Work, Football Game, and Sales Barn.

This is a random post of all the exciting things that have happened to us the last thirty-six hours! My Mom had to go back to school (not exciting) and so Bri Bear is back to work with me all day. I enjoy having her there, and she helps make the time go faster. However, I think she misses her time at Grandma and Grandpa's. How many more days until next summer?
This was her first nap of the day.
Brilee all the sudden decided she likes to stand. Oh, yes that is me with dark hair. The blonde and dark hair die got mixed up but I am liking it. Very different!
Aunt Stacia's last day of work. :(
Her second nap... she slept for three hours!

Friday night the Uintah Utes opened up their season by playing the Desert Hill's Thunder. I decided this would be a perfect game to take Brilee to because it is still so warm at night. We showed up right at kick off and she was in awe of all the things to look at. She was having a great time, and then the band started playing. I worried it would scare her because of how loud they are, but I was wrong. She thought the band was hilarious. She would giggle and squeal when they would play and people would dance for her. We only stayed until half time because she started getting tired. I could feel her relax and then startle at all the loud noises. She was asleep before we were out of the parking lot. It was great!
This was during the band's half time performance. She was impressed!

Jake has been wanting to buy cows for a long time. We have the feed for them this year, and so I have been all for it. We have been trying to get to the sale all summer, but between work, family reunions, shopping trips, and whatever else today was the first day we made it there. Jake bought a cool horse for ONE DOLLAR (and I had to talk him into buying it!). He was sure there was something wrong with it, but after looking it over it looks great. I think it is cute! We are naming it Dollar Bill. We also bought two heifer cows. Nothing like a Saturday morning spent at the Ballard Sale Barn.
Jake and Bri Bear walking in.
We met up with our good friend Jenny Henderson while we were there. This is her baby Haydn. She is such a sweetie, I could have loved on her all day long!
Brilee trying to bid on a baby goat! She kept waving her arm, luckily it is still a little arm so the auctioneer couldn't see it.
Passed out! A little girl can only handle so much fun until she has to sleep.

The lovely cows.
Here she is! She had never been touched before, and Jake had her broke to lead in ten minutes. I think we found a bargain!

Rec. Center!

Stacia, Doherty, Andre, and I took Annalee, Tytan, Elly, Chloey, Cy, and Brilee to the rec. center last night. We had so much fun, and were able to witness a lot of firsts! Tytan swam at the rec. center, Annalee went down the yellow slide, Chloey tried the whirlpool by herself, Elly and Leeber both jumped off the low dive and swam to the side by themselves, AND they jumped off the HIGH dive! It was so much fun. I couldn't believe how brave the older girls were. Leeber was running and jumping off the diving boards. I think they surprised themselves with their courage. It was a fun night, and I cannot wait to go again.
Tytan and Chloey played and played! We hardly even saw these two they were having so much fun!
Getting ready to race to the slide!
The big kid pool!
Elly climbing the ladder.
Elly jumping
The picture does no justice... this was one of the worst belly flops I have ever seen! (Stac and I remember seeing Amy belly flop once at the club, and it was very similar to Elly's.)
Leeber girl climbing the ladder... It looks so big compared to her.
Jumping (I love this picture!)
Falling! I jumped off the high dive to show the girls that it is easy, but it really is HIGH and scary! I was so impressed they both did it.
Brilee after her swim. Cy and Andre playing. I was so glad Andre stayed to be with the babe's!
Annalee coming out of the slide!
Elly coming out of the slide
After the belly flop and she caught her breath again. I sure wouldn't have been smiling!
Our picnic in Wal-Mart parking lot. These kids were starving!
Finishing off the picnic with a bang!

6 1/2 Months Ago

Six and a half months ago Bri Bear was a tiny baby who hated bath time!

Now Bri Bear is a big girl who LOVES bath time!
Six and a half months ago Brilee slept in her little bouncer and hardly moved at all.
Now Brilee puts herself to sleep in her own bed.
Sleeps all night long!
And wakes up happy every morning!

Our Week!

It has been a week since Bri Bear got her tubes in, and it has been an awesome week! She is doing so good. She feels so much better and is even happier than before. She is back to sleeping all night, she hears better, and she sits up better. We are so glad we did the tubes when we did, I feel awful she was in so much pain before. I posted a bunch of random pictures from our crazy week!

Heading to work!
I let Brilee sit in the grass for the first time, and she thought it was so cool. I couldn't get her to look at me. I guess I don't compete with a yard full of green grass.
I love her blue eyes!
This is the cute outfit she got from the California dogs for being so tough during the tube surgery!
Valdez cutting his hamburger cake at his going away BBQ.
Napping during the BBQ
Stacia and Henriikka at the BBQ
Sarah put Bri Bear to sleep while we were waiting to eat! Thank you so much Sarah!
