Change of Plans

Our plans have changed since my last update. I went to my regular doctor appointment on Monday, and low and behold, my blood pressure was high. I was expecting this, but hoping for the best. After visiting with the doctor he asked me to lay down for ten minutes, and then we would try it again. Unfortunately, it was still high fifteen minutes later. We went and did an ultra sound, and everything looked great with Bronsen! Doctor Nolte said, "I have to send you to labor and delivery. Just go in there, lay down, watch tv, relax, and it will go down." Sounds easy enough! I got there, and it was 152/103 (in his office it was 146/92). Huge let down! I relaxed, and did just what he said. I hoped to be there an hour. After a couple hours he decided to do blood work. Lab showed up, and then Doctor Nolte came and had me lay on my left side. I had been contracting the whole time, but I couldn't tell so he didn't seem to worried. I fell asleep at this point, and somehow unplugged the monitor. When I woke up I looked at the monitor and saw ?/? NOOOOO! I was sure when I was sleeping my numbers would be great, and then I could leave. Doctor Nolte came back as the nurse was fixing the monitor. He said my labs looked great, and now I just needed three readings to look OK (as long as I get my bottom number under 90 he considers it ok). I got the first one, and second one. Then I started getting excited thinking "YES!!! This is it..." Then I got scared that I was getting to excited so I made myself go back to sleep. It worked. I got released! My appointment was at 9:15 that morning, and I hurried out the door without breakfast. My thought was, "we will stop on our way to work." HORRIBLE plan. I will never do that again. I am now to be VERY careful, and VERY limited on what I do. This got me thinking about Brilee's procedures, and the thought of them made my blood pressure go up. I have decided we are going to do ear tubes, but tonsils and adenoids will be decided when I am more capable of dealing with things. Last night Brilee kept telling me "I'm not feeling much better." and "I'm sick huh?" I couldn't figure it out, but figured she was just being silly. Jake and I have been really sticking to her bed time routine, but last night we kinda forgot. She was playing, and we were watching TV. She got her book and came up to us and said, "Are you even going to put me to sleep?" haha we assured her we were. We read to her, and did the routine. She likes to sleep with her light on, but knows if she gets out of bed that means the light is off. She kept yelling at us, "Hey. I am trying to puke." We assumed she just wanted out of bed so we told her, "Well, try not to then." We went to bed, and it wasn't long before Bri was in bed with us. I decided I didn't care, and Jake must have to, because she was there. At 2:00 Jake is up gagging, and all confused. I didn't know what was going on, and Bri was bawling... THEN PUKING. and puking more, and more, and more. It was so sad. Jake cleaned himself and the bed up while I was rocking Bri. She was shaking, and her belly was just grumbling. It was so hot rocking her, and finally I realized it was because Bri was BURNING up. I had Jake get the thermometer, and one look on his face I knew it was high. He did a second test and sure enough 104.6 was the average of the two... (We then both took our temperatures to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and we were both in the 97 degree range). So we got medicine in her, made her a bed in the living room, turned on Barney, and tried to rest. It was a long night. I am trying to save all the leave I can, but I knew my Mom was planning on subbing for Stacia for a few hours. So, I was on the phone at 6 this morning trying to arrange everything. The plan was for Bri to go to Julie's, but we didn't want her getting them sick. So, my Mom came over, and then Barry came over when it was time for my Mom to go. It worked slick, and I am so appreciative for them and everything everyone does for us!!!!! I know I will go home to all my laundry being done, and my house cleaned. I am so lucky, and sooooooooo grateful!!!!!!

Good/Then Bad

Here I am on another Sunday night updating the blog. Our weeks are so busy that it feels like this is the only chance I get to update. This week has been wonderful! Jake, Donny, and Woody got our posts all set on Tuesday for our patio. Wednesday J. Harris' crew showed up to get the back patio prepped for cement. Early Thursday morning they were there pouring the cement and giving us a beautiful patio! (Thanks so much to Jeremy and his crew!!!) Then Friday Derrik came and curbed our front yard. It looks AWESOME!!! HUGE thanks to Derrik, too!!! We have the best friends and family :) Brilee and I went to work and swim lessons. Those two things are more than enough for us! Friday night the Parrack girls came over to ride horses and hang out. Saturday we were able to play outside, and Jake took Bri on a long horse ride! Today we spent the morning at the park. This afternoon Jake and I went to Hunger Games. I loved it, and Jake tolerated it. I didn't take pictures this week, but here are three videos I combined into one: diving board at swim lessons, horse riding, and dancing! Enjoy...

Friday morning we braced Brilee for another doctor visit. The on call PA advised we let Dr. Catten look in her ears. He said the tubes were clogged, doing nothing, and probably struggling to come out on their own. We made the appointment, and I had a pretty good idea going into it that there would be follow-up arrangements made. I was right... After asking us a few questions about Brilee, the most significant seeming to be "Does she snore?" Dr. Catten checked her out. Her ears were still infected (even being on antibiotics), and he said she definitely need new tubes. He said her tonsils were big, and where she snores he just would like to remove them all the same day. So, on April 2nd Brilee will be having her tonsils and adenoids removed, and new ear tubes placed. It freaks me out, and I hate it... BUT I do know it is probably for the best?!?!?!?! ugh!!!!! Poor girl...

Sicky Sicky

After a busy day at work we were happy when 4:30 finally rolled around! The BLM had our first fire, and it turned out to be 10 acres... Things are always rough on the first fire, and it is better to not be around for that. When we got to my Mom's Bri wanted Jake to watch her ride her bike. She had already been on 2 bike rides that were a mile and a half each. So he took her on a short ride. He ran into Parracks and then Jess brought Carston over to play. We visited for awhile, and then had to leave. We stopped at Wal-Mart, and then went to do the Wilcox's chores. Brilee loved bottle feeding their bum lamb. I was exhausted by the time that was over, and so Jake took me home. He and Bri went over to exercise his horse. After walking Chato around for awhile he decided to saddle him. Then he proceeded to let Brilee sit on him... AUGH!!! She came home and said, "I rode my horse that is going to turn into Goldie." I was confused and then Jake explained that she is the first person on the back of Chato, and one day he will be her horse. We ate cereal for dinner, and then passed out for the night! Bri came in sometime during the night, and slept restlessly. When she woke up she couldn't open her eye. It was hurting her really bad. Jake got her a cold wash cloth and she held it there for an hour. She couldn't keep her eye open for longer than two seconds. It was sad. We decided to take Molly and the steer to sales barn, and Bri assured us she was "all better." We went to Granny's, and Brilee fell asleep on her couch. She slept for about a hour, and woke up with her eye still bugging her. We took her to the sales barn anyway (because she kept saying she was fine...). We lucked out with our sales, and Molly topped the sale!! We were shocked. Jake actually told me on the way down there we would probably have to pay to get rid of her. haha nope 500 bucks later! Brilee fell asleep at the sales barn, and Jake thought she felt warm. Her eye was nasty, and so we watched the steer sell and took her to the clinic. She cried and cried that she was fine and didn't want to go to the doctor. We took her anyway. She fell asleep in the waiting room, and woke up when they called us back. She told the nurse "I am fine. I don't need shots." The nurse agreed to no shots, and Brilee did everything she asked. She fell asleep again while we were waiting for the doctor. He FINALLY came in right as she was waking up. First thing she said to him, "I am all better now!! I don't needs shots." He also told her he wouldn't give her a shot, and then she went into a big spill about how Dr. Staker gave her two shots (two months ago, she's like an elephant with that memory), and that he would give her baby brother shots and she would hold him and tell him "don't cry. I am not scared." She was very entertaining. The doctor listened to her heart and she told him, "I am good. My heart stopped beating." haha We were all cracking up. After it was all said and done her ears are infected, and her throat was nasty looking. We got her on her antibiotics and she was feeling pretty good by this morning. She woke up happy and first thing she said, "I really am better Daddy! Mama I am good." So today we had a eventful day where we checked a lot off our list! Thanks Mom and Dad for helping us this morning, and cooking us lunch!

Spring Cleaning

We had a busy weekend! Thursday Jake was talking to the guys at work about burning his field. He wanted to borrow some things, and get some tips. Scott and Ryan said, "If you do it tonight we can help." That's all Jake needed! The three of them jumped in the "van" (infamous van of Scott's) and headed to Rosey town. I stayed in Vernal to take Bri to swim lessons. Grammy and I went and watched Brilee, and she did awesome! She was perfect. She got out of the water and said, "That was so much fun." YEA!!!! As we were driving home I saw smoke at half way hollow. I called Julie and said, "Is that Jake's smoke I see twenty miles away?" She confirmed what I already knew. She also said it was going really well. The smoke got thicker as I got to Roosevelt, and by dark the smoke had completely settled. Sorry neighbors! The burn looked great though. I had some people coming over for a craft night, and so Jake and Brilee were put on fire duty. We all had a good night. Friday I went to work, and Jake and Bri stayed home to do chores. Jake dug out the area we are going to be putting an extension to our patio. The ground is still frozen, so he did all he could do. He then went and put shoes on a couple of the Bowen's horses. Brilee tagged along, and was so good for Jake. My Mom headed over around noon to help out, and I couldn't stand working with the weather being so good. I took a half day, and got to do a little work myself in the yard! Not much, but it was so amazing to just be outside. We burnt our front field, weeds behind the house, and everything else we could find. We worked really hard, and started getting tired. Brilee was so sun burnt by this time, and EXHAUSTED. Jake has been looking at upgrading her saddle to one with a deeper seat, and made more for a kid for a long time now. He finally found the one he wanted, and so he ordered it for her. It came Thursday night, and so by Friday evening he was dying to get her in it. It's the perfect saddle for her, and has already improved her balance a ton. She can now run without needing any assistance. Brilee pleased her Dad and went and rode. She came home, took a bath (she was sooooooo dirty), and fell asleep while I was putting her pj's on her. Jake and I followed suit and were asleep EARLY! Saturday we woke up early, and get working on our list. I put together Bronsen's swing and stroller. Jake went and rebuilt the horses fence. Bri and I then went to Julie's to watch her burn her field. I sat outside on the grass for way to long, and I got way sunburned too! It feels good though. After we got home the Nyberg's stopped by so we could measure for our curbing! We are so excited... two more weeks!!!! We had all the plans in the world to go in and call it a day, but Granny's house was hopping with kids. Brilee could hear them out playing, and she kept trying to sneak over there. Jake and I caved and took her over. He saddled Goldie and Stubby and gave all the kids turns riding. It was a lot of fun for the kids. Today Jake trimmed our neighbors horses, we moved our camper, and then decided to go have fun! We went to the sand dunes. Jake rode his colt, Jaylie rode Goldie, and Bri, Chaz, and I rode the wheeler. It was great. Jaylie is a really good little rider. After riding we went to Dathen's 18th birthday party!!!! Got home, and are calling it an early night again tonight. WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Swim Lessons

About a month and a half ago I decided I wanted to make sure I go Bri in the spring swim lesson sessions. I checked out the rec. center website and saw sign ups were Feb. 20th. I made a mental note, and on the 20th at about 3:00 I went to register her. Turns out people are all about swim lessons. There are three pre levels. The bottom level is needs complete assistance, middle is some skills independently, and top is all swimming independently. The two bottom levels were full, and so I went for it and put her in the top level. Yesterday I got scared, and called the recreation center to tell them about it. They assured me that most parents don't level their children correctly, and that they would actually do a skills test and put the kids in groups based on that. PHEW!!!! Brilee was super nervous for lessons, and didn't really want to go. Last time we went to swimming Brilee got "yelled" at (not really, but she claims she did) by a life guard for climbing the slide. She agreed to go, but only if Stacia would come. Luckily, Stac got off work in time to come. We got her to the pool, got her showered, and then took her to her class. There were eighteen 3-4 year olds, and four teachers. Not one of those teachers knew how to speak to kids. Stacia and I were laughing so hard. They wanted them to do a float test. They were explaining it, and finally one teacher looked up at the parents and said, "None of them will listen." haha... The kids all finally got their test and were broke into their groups. Brilee's teacher swam her across the pool (she aced the float test and ended up in level 3 after all) so Stac and I hurried over there. She was doing great. She has two teachers, a boy and a girl. They were asking all the kids to tell them their names. One little boy was really hard to understand. The teacher asked three times and then said, "Can you spell that for me." The boy was as confused as the teacher. Then, the little girl next to Brilee started crying. Brilee started pretending to cry with this little girl. It was funny, but I knew would not end up well. As she is pretending the boy life guard (who freaked her out, because she was sure he was the one who yelled at her) came and grabbed her. She did alright swimming with him, and then got water up her nose. She started crying, and needed a love. She shook it off after a minute. She was freezing, and ready to be finished by this point. She kept putting on a really cheesy smile and looking up at Stacia and me saying, "I'm done!!" haha poor girl. We made her stick it out, but I think tomorrows lesson will be smoother because we made her stay. Tomorrow Jake and I are both going, but we are going to sit in the back to give support, but not an escape.
The madness of getting the kids broke into groups.

Canceled Trip=Girl Trip

We had to cancel our annual ski trip this year. My Dad can't ski because of his shoulder, Del decided to get a job that keeps him super busy, and Bronsen can't be trusted outside of the Basin for the next little while... So, we were bummed. Brilee LOVES to stay in notels aka MOTELS. She is obsessed with swimming, elevators, sleeping in their beds, and ice machines. Stacia had to go help Macy with some wedding dress shopping this weekend, and so she suggested we all go out. I decided I had one more weekend in me, and my Mom was game so we went. We got out there around 11 on Saturday and went right to the Gateway. We did a little shopping, and then left Stacia to meet Macy. Bri, Grammy, and I headed up to GMA/PA's condo where we enjoyed lunch and visiting with the Bullocks. After some resting we got brave and headed to Babies-R-Us. Bri fell asleep about the time we got there. GMA Cooley volunteered to sit in the car with her. It was very kind, and Brilee was much better off for her nap. My Mom and I headed in and got all sorts of last minute baby items. After our baby shopping it was Costco time. Costco at 106 South is ALWAYS crazy, but Saturdays are the WORST! No parking. My mom dropped me off at the door. I ran in got the few things we couldn't live without, and then called her and her pick me up at the front. Stac called and said they were finished, and we decided to meet her at Cheesecake Factory (surprise... dinner was my choice!). The Youngs' dropped her off right as we were pulling in. She went in to get a number and they told her it was an eighty minute wait. FORGET THAT (or so we thought)! We headed down state street deciding where we would go instead. Stac and I decided Training Table... we LOVE cheese fries and special dipping sauce! We knew there was one on Fourth South so we headed there. Yea, they were closed. By this point we were starving, and had been in the car forever!!!! We remembered Red Robin right underneath my grandparents condo, and that's where we ended up. Red Robin is way good, and it was perfect!!! After dinner we dropped GMA off and headed to the hotel. Bri was so excited. We got checked in and she immediately went swimming. Stactook her. I stayed back and rested. She got cold fast, and so she came back and took a warm bath. We ended up relaxing and going to be early. Bri didn't sleep well during the night (to much excitement and diet coke), and she was up early. We finally went with it and got up and ready. We went to McD's for breakfast. Stac was taking her into the play area when I heard a loud bang. I looked back and said to my Mom, "She just bonked hard." I knew it was bad when she was still holding her breath when I got to her. She finally let out a scream, and we checked out the damage. We are sooooo lucky it didn't end in stitches. The corner of the door got her just right. She hit hard enough to split her little head, but not split it wide. POOR GIRL! I was relieved it was on the other side from her horrible bonk this fall. We said our farewell's toGMA/PA and hit the road. Bri fell asleep in Parley's and woke up in Myton. Perfect drive for her and us. Thank you so much Mom for the trip! We loved it... but should have taken more pictures!!!!!
WHOOT WHOOT! VS was having a sale on their "lips". Brilee is obsessed with make-up, but especially lips. (Yes, she does have make-up on. No, I am not a Toddler's and Tiara's type mom. Stacia did her make-up...)
