Play Dates

Brilee has had some AWESOME play dates the past couple of days. Ben and Andre went on a cruise, and so we have been playing with their kids. Friday Brilee and I picked Annalee up from school and then went and picked up Elly and headed to Vernal. We met Julie, Chloey, Jaylie, and Tytan at McDonald's and then headed to the Rec. Center. The kids had a blast swimming. When open swim closed I set Elly and Annalee up and then I did some lap swimming. It was great! After swimming we went and got Caleb and Ashlyn a get well present (they both had their tonsils out Friday) and took it to them. They were both being tough cookies! We then headed home. Elly and Annalee were so excited to be the ones to attend Brilee's first sleep over. (She was asleep HOURS before we got home!) After we got home I turned on Freaky Friday for the girls (it was after 11) thinking they would fall right asleep! Around mid night I gave in and went to bed. A little after one the girls came in asking me to turn another movie on. I said NO WAY! They then fell asleep. Brilee woke up early as always Saturday morning. Jake and I tried to keep her quite, but it didn't work. Elly and Annalee came in and the look on Brilee's face was priceless! She was so excited to have the girls at her house. Today Cy came over while Julie went to the doctor. He was so cute. He and Brilee played hard, and then the poor guy was exhausted!
This is the only picture I took of the sleep over, but it's a good one! I did all their hair the same...
Brilee has been wrestling ever since Grandpa took her to watch the Iowa HawkEye wrestling match. Her cousins don't love it!
She decided to give Cy the escape point!
And escape he did!
When Cy started getting sleepy I picked him up, and that made Brilee mad! She quickly figured out how to stand though.
Then she kept practicing all day!
Cute Cy taking his nap.

Spring Fever

Our family is going crazy with spring fever! It has been so cold and foggy here, and we are sick of it! Today we woke up to fog and weird snow. By midday the fog was burning off, but it was snowing with blue sky. My car thermometer said 33 degrees and so Julie, Ann, and I decided to go for a walk. It felt soooo good! When we got home Jake was ready to work on his horse, 7G. (His spring fever started last week, and he started breaking his colts.) Brilee and I went with him. I rode my bike to Granny's and Jake followed me in the truck. He said I was going 20 MPH!!!! When we got to Granny's Brilee and I helped Jake catch 7G. Brilee LOVED chasing the horses with us. Every time they would start running and we would run to step in front of them she would bust up laughing! We finally caught the horse and Jake put the halter on him, and then he put Brilee on him. She thought she was hot sutff! She was laying on him, clicking at him to go, bouncing up and down, and simply loving life!  Jake was so proud...
Brilee started the morning by emptying all her toys from her basket, and then crawling into the basket herself.
She keeps us laughing!
Brilee being a cowgirl.
I cannot wait of it to warm-up so she can be outside more. She is so happy when she is outside!
After her busy afternoon we fed her dinner, and she got a big piece of hamburger stuck on her nose!
What a cutie!
She ended her night the same way she started it!

Wendover

This weekend Stacia, Michael, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Jake, Brilee, and I all headed over to the Windy City! Most of us lost money, but we still had a great time! Brilee was a great baby and had a blast! Anytime anyone would walk by her she would say, "Whose that". People loved it and would stop and talk with her. She loved being able to go outside, but hated crawling on the turf. Grandma Cooley loved hearing Brilee tell her Mommy and Daddy "No, No, No" whenever we would take something from her. Thanks for a great trip everyone! We can't wait for the next one.
We were supposed to leave early Sunday morning, but Brilee would not wake up! We woke her up and then she snuggled up to her Daddy, and he didn't have the heart to move her. Before Brilee had the tubes put back in her ears she was waking up a lot throughout the night, but two days after her surgery she started sleeping 8-6, and on this morning she slept 7:30-8:30!
We stopped at Del Taco for lunch, and Brilee slept the whole time! Thanks for holding her Aunt Stacia.
The lunch we had hoped would be lucky...
Brilee and Grandma looking outside... Brilee spent all weekend asking us "What's that?" and "Whose that".
We accidently locked them out of the room, and so Grandma walked Brilee around the lobby.
Thumbs down from Jake, but hopefully next time we will have two thumbs up!

Heading out of town!

SLC, Jazz, and Iowa Hawkeyes

Last weekend Jake, Donny, Kevin, Julie, Jenny, and I all went out to Salt Lake to watch the Jazz play the Denver Nuggets. We had so much fun! We hung out at the gateway, ate dinner at Tucano's, and then watched the Jazz beat the Nuggets. We had a lot of laughs, ate a lot of good food, and had a lot of fun. I cannot wait for our next trip!
We rode TRAX downtown... what an experience!

While we were away Brilee stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Dickson. She had a blast! The Iowa Hawkeye wrestling team (2009 NCAA Wrestling Champs!) and Brilee got to have her pictures taken with the best wrestlers in the nation!

She has a NECK!

About a month ago I was talking with everyone at Granny's house about how cute Brilee's chubby face is, and how she doesn't have a neck. The kids were concerned that Brilee really didn't have a neck, but we explained she did and you just couldn't see it yet. Two nights ago Jaylie and Brilee were playing when I hear Jaylie yelling, "Kelsey! She is getting a neck!" I didn't understand what she was saying, and she was just so excited. So I asked her to tell me again and so she jumped up and yelled "She has a neck!!!". It was so funny and so random.

I think she is getting her neck because she spends all day pushing the stroller GGMA gave her back and forth throughout the house. She loves it!

She loves taking the baby out of the stroller
So she can give her baby loves!

Ear Tube #2

Brilee's second surgery for her ears was this morning. She couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight, and we had to get to the hospital at 7:45. She slept pretty good last night and didn't cry to hard when we didn't feed her when she woke up at 5:00. When we got all checked in Brilee started making friends. Her first friend was a little boy  who was born four hours before Brilee last year. Jake recognized them right away and so we started chatting about how they were in the nursery together. She then made a friend who was in fourth grade. He was getting tubes for the sixth time. He loved to make her growl. They were cute together. Finally, after waiting an hour Dr. Catten said it was our turn. He explained what he was doing and told us it would be about a five minute procedure. The nurse came and wrapped Bri Bear in a warm blanket and took her away. We sent her favorite blanket, binkie, sippy, and bottle back with her. The nurses were impressed with how prepared we were. Finally after 15-20 minutes Dr. Catten came out and told us about her ears. He said the left ear was a breeze and the tube would have lasted a long time, but the right ear was a mess. He said the clot was a lot bigger than he had expected and it was starting to push the tube and cover the hole. He was glad we didn't wait any longer than we did. The surgery took him longer than he expected, and now we have to do ear drops for seven days and go see him often! He then said as soon as she woke up and calmed down the nurse would bring her to us. When we did the surgery in Vernal they let Jake and I go back and be with Brilee when she was waking up, and Jake and I were talking about how we liked that better. Finally, after a few more minutes they brought Brilee back to Jake and I. She was drinking her bottle and very happy. The nurse said she woke up and hardly even cried. On our way home Jake and I decided we liked having the nurses deal with a screaming baby and then bringing us our happy baby better! When we got home she ate breakfast and played and played. She was so hyper. After an hour of playing she crashed! Here are some pictures of our day...
On our way out the door.
