Mother's Day/Weekend

Jake and I have been looking into getting a Honda Pioneer side by side for about a month now. After pricing them throughout Utah we found out Beers Harley Davidson in Vernal would give us the best price. We wanted a green one and were told we would have about a six week wait for it. We were good with this thinking it would let us think about it longer… Well six weeks turned into two weeks, and before we knew it we were buying us a new Honda. We love it, and Bronson can't get enough of it. (Even though when we went to buy it he said, "I don't want rhino. Buy motorcycle.") It's a bummer that it's so cold this weekend, but really it hasn't kept us off the thing. Friday night we rode it all around (we had a cousin party) and finally at dark we watched Goonies with all the kids. Saturday I had to teach scouts about prescribed fire at the Ouray Bird Refuge while Jake and Ben took all the kids bear hunting. When they got home we rode around for hours, and then finally called it a night. Bronson got bounced on the trampoline and hurt his leg. He is finally starting to put weight on it, but we are going to watch it for a few days. This morning we all slept in (Bronson slept until 10!!!) and now we are just hanging out in our warm house. A perfect Mother's Day.
Bri's preschool class put on an adorable Mother's Day program. It was so fun. She has one more day of school, and then it is summer for her! We are excited. This summer we have nothing set in schedule. She plans to do her barrel club, kids tri, and cheer camp. We are excited for a break.
After three years of taking second place in the rec center women's basketball league my team FINALLY took first!!!! It was a good game too.
Granny, Julie, and Jenny went crazy selling their goodies for Mother's Day. This picture was taken at 1 in the morning Thursday night. Yes, I went home right after that, and NO they did not. They worked a few more hours and then all got up to go to work the next day. I hope Granny retires soon!
Happy Mother's Day/Father's Day to BRONSON!!!

Firework

Brilee had another great year of dance. She ended with her dance recital on Tuesday at the rec. center. Taunia decided to do a recital for her four and five year olds so she could really focus on them. She feels bad that they always get rushed, and just wanted them to have a night all about them. It was perfect, adorable, and over in thirty minutes! Bri was so excited for her "dance competition". I decided to take her to the hair school to let them do her hair and nails before it. She hates for me to curl her hair (I burned her when she was 2, and I will NEVER let it down), and so it's a win/win. She feels special and they do her hair just how it's supposed to be done. Brilee did awesome, and we were so proud of her. Right before it was her time to go on Bronson went to hug her. After the hug he ripped her stars right off her costume (freakishly strong dude). She wanted to cry and had a look of horror/hate on her face. Luckily, Granny was there, and saved the day. Bri shook it off and did great. I love Taunia and how she treats my little girl. She boosts her up and is instilling confidence in her that will last her life. Next year we start ballet!!!!

The little girl sitting by Brilee is named Brynlee. Bri met her at the park last summer and they became instant friends. She talked about Brynlee all summer long. It was such a happy surprise when Brynlee showed up for our same dance class! They are really cute little friends, and even better, Brynlee will be in kindergarten next year at Ashley!
Right before the damage… I thought it was so cute he wanted his sissy… WRONG!

One of my favorite things in their dance class is every week Taunia has each little girl stand up and say their name. She then asks them a question (what do you like to do? what makes you happy? what are you excited for?) and then they sit down. After each girl has had their turn to talk they dance. I was happy when Taunia had all the girls do this before the recital.

Catch Up Time

Once again my weeks have gotten away from me, and I haven't updated the 'ole blog on our busy life! So I really should do three posts, but I'll squeeze into one big one.

Easter:
Our Easter was just short of perfect. (Literally other than Bronson throwing up all night, and the Nybergs camper it was perfect.) It started on Thursday when the kids had a sleepover at my parents so Jake and I could go set up camp. Ben and Andre were also heading down. We got home from work, packed up the camper, put water in it, hooked on, and took off. It was soooooo much easier without kids. We got to camp right about dark. Again, super easy. Unhooked, helped Ben and Andre set up, and then we took off. We drove way slow on the way home because we had seen lots of elk and deer on the way down. Sure enough, right past Buck Canyon we run into a big bull right in the middle of the road. We got home just after 11. Jake and I both had busy days at work Friday. Jake left for a plugging at 5, and I left for a big presentation I was doing in Salt Lake at 6. Jake finished up work around 11, picked up the kids, did chores, and headed South down and bound. My presentation was 6 hours, but it went really well. I had a lot of positive feedback, and everyone felt like it was worthwhile. (Which was a huge relief, because people had flown in from all over for it… Texas, Wisconsin, South Dakota…) I got back to Vernal and was heading South by 6. It took me just at an hour to get to our camp. As soon as I pulled in Jake said, "Bronson puked, but he's sleeping now." UGH!!!! Sure enough he was sick. He slept about an hour, and then woke to puke more. He literally threw up every 15-20 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG. I was getting really worried about him. He would puke, then want to drink a bottle, and then instantly puke again. It was a lose/lose situation. Drinking made him puke… crying made him puke (which he would do if I wouldn't give him his bottle). I just let him drink in hopes he would keep something down to prevent the dehydration. The Nybergs let Brilee sleep in their camper with them, and that made the night way easier. She did wake them up at 3 wanting her Mama though! So, they brought her to us and Jake was able to sleep a few hours with her. Bronson did sleep from 4-6:30. When he woke up I said, "Why are you awake so early?" He answered, "I up all night Mama." He puked a couple more times that morning, and then was totally normal. We hung around camp most of the morning. Annalee and Tytan drove the kids around on the four wheelers for hours, and the adults just got to visit. We also filled 10 million eggs. Bronson, Jake, and Kendall went for a razor ride, and Bronson came back asleep. While he napped we let the other kids dye eggs. They loved it. Then Olivia proceeded to eat 4 of them. I was way impressed. After Bronson's nap we all loaded up in the side by sides and four wheelers and went for a drive. Jake saw an elk so we went hiking to look for sheds. We found nothing, but it was fun walking around with 9 kids ages 12-almost 2. It was hot too. It was on this walk we discovered Addy's budding crush on Tytan… to bad they're cousins! ;) We got back to the ATV's and drove some more. Jake found another spot he wanted to look, and this time all the kids and Mom's stayed back to play in the sand and throw pine cones. No luck again so we went back to camp. We were just getting ready to start dinner when Jake showed back up (he had taken a load of kids on a four wheeler ride) with a horn. He found some mystery road he had never been on and found a shed right in the middle of the road. We all loaded back onto the ATV's and went and hiked that area. Charlie made me laugh so hard when he said, "Well we had the man power, but not the effort for this hunt." haha he takes his shed horn hunting serious! We got back to camp right at dark and started cooking dinner. Then we bathed our kids, made their bed up, and snuggled them up to one another and they slept great. We all did. The adults had fun visiting by the campfire before we gave in though. Sunday morning woke with a great surprise… the Bunny visited. He left some clothes and toys. We got a note from him saying if the kids ate breakfast he would let us know where the egg hunt would be. The kids ate great, and then the note showed up. We grabbed baskets and went hunting eggs. It was too fun! After the hunt Erin and Kendall took off. We went on one more ride. Jilli and Bronosn both fell asleep in their Mom's arms and it was so fun just cruising around. We went back to camp and packed up. We had so much fun. The kids all played so well and had so much fun. )Bronson loved his tonka trucks and was always pushing one around. Bri rode her bike pretty much non stop. After camp was clean Bri and I took off in the car and got home quickly. Josie called me about 45 minutes after I had been home and said, "Jake will be late. We had some issues." BUMMER!!!!

Bronson's bday
Bronson LOVED his birthday weekend. He felt so cool. He had lots of phone calls with people singing to him, we sang to him all day, and his cousins came and sang numerous times as well. Each time he would just beam and giggle. It was so sweet. I woke up early on his birthday and ran to Vernal for the IceBreaker Tri. It was a good one. I loved it, and it got me excited for the Dino Tri. I took 3rd in my division. My swim time plus my first transition was 6 minutes, my bike time plus second transition was 29 minutes, and my run was 28 minutes. The run about killed me. I had to walk in the first half mile. I think it was because it was FREEZING (and raining and super windy), and I couldn't feel my legs just coming off the bike. As soon as I got my feeling back I was fine. I got home in time to snuggle the birthday boy off in to dreamland. Jake and Bri fell asleep downstairs, and I slept upstairs. We all napped for almost three hours. After our nap we headed up to the cabin. It was raining/snowing/hailing so hard we couldn't even see the road. We turned around and came back home. Jake decided to go to the Mule Deer Foundation banquet with Ben and the kids and I hung around the house. We ordered pizza and had a good night watching Land Before Time. Sunday we headed for the cabin early. We got there just as a herd of elk was leaving. Bronson was so excited to see them. We hung out in the cabin by the fire most of the day. Jake and my parents went for a walk, I put Bronson down for a nap, and Bri and I played. Stac and Charlie showed up and put Bronson's bike together, and then they went for walk too. Around 5 everyone started coming. We went down and had a nice hot dog roast. It was a little chilly, but we just huddled up to the fire. After a while we went back to the cabin for cake, ice cream, and presents.  He was one spoiled boy! Thanks everyone! Then we cleaned up and headed home. It was a great weekend.

This weekend was spent enjoying the summer like weather! We played outside, played with cousins, shoed horses, and watered plants! Bronson loves his strider bike and is really good at riding it. Bri loves her puppies and takes such good care of them. I love low key weekends.
